A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S also known as simply MAERSK has been the World largest container ship and supply vessel operator. It is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with subsidiaries and offices across 130 countries and around 88,000 employees. It operates over 786 vessels and has a capacity of 4.1 million TEU.

MAERSK will participate in the admission and recruitment process for B.E. Marine Engineering and B.Sc. Nautical Science cadets, along with AMET.

Association of AMET & MAERSK

AMET’s relationship with MAERSK is paramount and everlasting for the last 25 years. MAERSK has been recruiting AMET cadet’s of B.Sc Nautical Science, B.E Marine Engineering, HND NS, HND ME, ETO and GME courses all along.

More than 2400 cadets have been recruited by MAERSK and many of them are currently occupying coveted position in various renowned International Shipping companies as Managing Directors and CEOs.

During 1999-2001, AMET conducted a diploma programme in association with MAERSK by conducting DNS and DMS course with a total sponsorship by MAERSK. Also during 2005-2008, AMET conducted 3 - Batches of Dual degree programme in association with MAERSK by conducting BE Marine Technology course with a total sponsorship by MAERSK. It was the first of its kind in the history of Maritime Education in India as well.

Recently MAERSK has signed an MoU with AMET to establish the Centre of Excellence of MAERSK-AMET University, which is the world’s first Centre of Excellence of MAERSK at AMET University and MAERSK agreed to recruit Deck and Engine Cadets only from AMET. The MoU was signed by Dr. J. Ramachandran, Chancellor, AMET, Deemed to be University, Chennai and Mr. Niels H. Bruus, Head of Marine – HR, Fleet Management & Technology, A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S, Denmark.

Eligibility Criteria

  • A pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) with minimum 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 60% marks in English in 12th std.
  • Should be a Citizen of India.

AMET has recently established a new multidisciplinary institution called AMET Institute of Science and Technology (AIST) in Thenpattinam, Chengalpattu District in a 150-acre land area adjacent to the National Highways of Chennai and Pondicherry. The AIST has a Centre of Excellence of Maersk and other well-known shipping companies such as V-Ships, Fleet Management Limited, etc. which recruits cadets from AMET for various maritime programmes and training. The candidates selected through the Admission cum Recruitment Drive process for B.Sc Nautical Sciences and B.E Marine Engineering will study at the Maersk Centre of Excellence campus under the AMET Institute of Science & Technology - Thenpattinam.

  • To clear AMET Online CET, AMET Psychometric Test, IMU CET & Personal Interview by MAERSK.
  • Medical Fitness as per DGS norms.

Admission Process for Electro Technical Officers

MAERSK to participate in Admission cum recruitment process of Male and Female cadets along with AMET.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and the candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard exams. lf a candidate could not secure 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard exams shall still be eligible provided the candidate secures 50% in the degree exam and the medium of learning in degree was English.
  • Passed three years Diploma with 60% marks or four year's Degree including lateral entry, with 50% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication / Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation or equivalent.
  • The diploma /degree courses must have been recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE.
  • Should be a Citizen of India.

Mode of Selection

  • To clear AMET Online CET, AMET Psychometric Test & Personal Interview by MAERSK.
  • Medical Fitness as per DGS norms.
