The MAERSK Centre of Excellence is a premier training ground for the next generation of maritime professionals. With an annual intake of over 160 deck and engine cadets, this campus offers a unique blend of practical skills, industry expertise, and leadership training, all while embedding MAERSK’s core values from the onset.
What sets this program apart is the opportunity to train alongside some of the finest minds in the country. These individuals have already secured their futures with an offer letter before commencing their training. Together, they develop as colleagues, learning to collaborate in a dynamic environment where everyone is part of the same global organization—laying the foundation for a strong professional network and a promising career in shipping.
MAERSK, a global logistics company founded in 1904, has been a pioneering force in revolutionizing maritime transport and is on its journey to improve life for all by integrating the world. MAERSK’s vision is to transform logistics across oceans, continents, flightpaths, platforms and networks.
MAERSK operates a vast fleet of over 700 container vessels, manages 65 terminals, and conducts operations in 130 countries with its global workforce of 100,000 employees. Committed to decarbonising logistics, MAERSK introduced a fleet of green fuel-powered container vessels in 2023 and aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040, setting a new standard for environmental responsibility in the shipping industry.
MAERSK’s modern and inclusive workplace is commited to ensuring a psychologically safe environment, where diversity is valued. To work at MAERSK is to work with the world.”
MAERSK's Women cadet program and Equal at Sea initiative, launched in 2022, were groundbreaking programs dedicated to promoting gender diversity and inclusion in the maritime industry. With a vision to create a more equitable and inclusive environment, MAERSK is empowering women seafarers by breaking traditional barriers and setting new industry standards. Through strong industry collaboration with policymakers and experts, we are paving the way for a more diverse future in shipping. MAERSK Centre of Excellence's commitment to this change is reflected in our achievement of hosting the highest percentage of aspiring women seafarers surpassing 50% in year 2023 and 2024.
Join us in shaping the future of maritime—where opportunities are equal, and aspirations know no bounds! #EqualAtSea.
The journey from student to seafarer is marked by both personal growth and professional development, and my pre-sea training played a pivotal role in making this transition successful. I highly recommend the MAERSK recruitment drive - an exceptional opportunity for aspiring seafarers looking to build a career in the shipping industry.
The world isn't just ready for change; its ready for women to lead the way at MAERSK, equality is not just a dream but a reality. To all the young girls dreaming of adventure and achievement- the sea is calling you. I’m grateful for the opportunity MAERSK gave me to push my limits, and now it’s your turn to start your journey at MAERSK, where barriers are broken, and the future is yours to shape.
Seafaring demands both mental and physical resilience, along with Officer-Like Qualities to succeed. AMET University provided me with the skills to meet these challenges and gave me an early opportunity to join Maersk, turning a dream into reality. Sailing with Maersk’s multinational crew enhanced my communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. My cadetship was a transformative journey, allowing me to learn from my experiences, refine my engineering expertise, and take a significant step toward excellence.
